Justice should not be limited by financial constraints.

We are a barristers’ chambers for direct access and professional clients, providing accessible legal expertise and document drafting since 2018. From our North West base, we accept instructions from individuals and professional clients across England and Wales.

Our direct access barristers offer a fixed fee service for most cases. By minimising our overheads and operating costs, we are able to offer lower fees than most of our competitors, ensuring high-quality legal representation for a broader range of clients. Our approach is flexible and client-centred.

Our services range from specialist legal advice (in person and in writing) to attending hearings, mediations and conferences, through to downloadable legal templates and bespoke document drafting.

The direct access advantage

Senior expertise, without the solicitor’s mark-up.

A firm of solicitors employing someone with the experience and expertise of Joseph Chiffers, or one of our other barristers, would charge their clients upwards of £250.00 per hour for his time, often as much as £350.00 per hour. As direct access barristers, our fees are far lower, and in many cases we offer a fixed fee for legal advice, so you know exactly what you will pay from the outset.

See indicative fixed fees

Fixed fees for most cases

No hourly surprises. Where a fixed fee is not possible, we give stage-by-stage estimates and keep you informed throughout.

Lower overheads, lower cost

We keep operating costs low compared with conventional chambers and solicitors’ firms, and pass the saving on to you.

Unbundling your case

Authorised to conduct litigation, we can also let you take on the administrative tasks yourself where it saves cost: your informed choice.

The commitments behind every instruction

How we conduct ourselves with our clients, the court and one another.

Applying the cab rank rule even to direct access clients.

Being sincere in our dealings with others.

We are transparent about costs, with 99% of our work being subject to a fixed fee, agreed upon in advance.

We fearlessly act in our client’s interests.

We show fortitude in the face of adversity.

We value free speech and will ensure that our members are free to express their views on any subject as private individuals.

Being honest in our dealings with others and keeping our word, no matter what the cost.

We offer reasonable and flexible fee arrangements, to ensure, as far as we can, that clients gain access to justice.

We value lateral thinking and legal knowledge. If there is a solution to your problem, we pride ourselves on being able to find it.

Conducting ourselves honourably.
